The Law and Order anti-Dorr party secure an overwhelming legislature majority and appear to sweep the state ticket except Gov Fenner. Charles Jackson is elected governor with anti Texas Whig firmness. James F Simmons opposed Fenner, denouncing him as a Saraface for delaying Texas resolutions, while Henry Y Cranston wins eastern district Congress seat, and ex Gov Arnold takes western district.
