The Huron Reflector lists subscription and advertising charges. Prices include One Dollar plus Seventy-Five Cents per issue if prepaid, or Two Dollars renewal within the year, or Two Dollars and Fifty Cents with delayed payment. Ads run three times at one dollar per square and twenty five cents for each additional insertion.

Readable fragments tell of Mike Fink a famed riverboat captain famed for defying laws and paying no heed to constables. A stubborn exchange over legal warrants leads to a plan for a wagon ride to the magistrate with his crew.
A scene on the riverbank shows Mike and his crew aboard a small wagon drawn by river boatmen using setting poles. They dodge a snag, push back, and tumble over the bank into the water after the wagon careens past a stump. The tale closes with reflective moral prose urging peace and kind conduct among neighbors.
A Detroit era item criticizes a Michigan plan to build a transcontinental road and telegraph to the Pacific. It mocks Ecklee and his committee, doubts viability over rugged terrain, and imagines a copperage future with rail, telegraph, and fictional wonders while lampooning national expansion schemes. The piece parodies grand projects and includes a mock legal notice about money brokers and county licensing in Ohio.
The act amends a prior law on county treasurers duties and tax collection. It specifies that if delinquent land is moved to the next year’s duplicate and a taxpayer presents last year’s receipt, no deduction may be made from the duplicate. instead the treasurer bears the charge. The auditor must notify the treasurer, who faces a debt action for unpaid taxes with prosecuting attorney oversight. It also prohibits distraining exempt property and sets the act to take effect after passage on December 21, 1844.
