Five Hundred Birds Exhibit At Wayne County Poultry Show
The fifth annual Wayne County Poultry Association show at Stanton Opera House drew record attendance and number of birds, with over five hundred exhibited including turkeys chickens and geese. Judging by W. Russell of Ort oma, two pens tied at ninety seven points. Silver Cup went to R C Sheffler Van Wert for a top White Rocks pen. Corn Contest Draws Wide Interest at Poultry Show
A corn contest tied to the poultry show drew strong interest with plans for bigger prizes and more exhibitors next year. Fred Wooley of Garden Grove gave an instructive talk on corn and was thanked by promoters. Prizes included 5 dollars for best twenty-five ears won by W S Rash, Reed's Yellow Dent. Badly Injured In Wagon Accident On Farm Trip
George Mckinley fractured a small ankle bone when a wagon wheel came off while he and his son James were en route to their farm. He was dragged several feet before the team could be stopped. Drs. McCulloch and Smith treated him. he is recovering. Mrs. W E Berkey hosted a birthday afternoon for friends, with a two course lunch. Attendees included Mesdames Humeston Farr Saylor Greenlee Russell Foliz Moore Carlson Culmsee and McGuire.
