Chariton topped Humeston 22 to something in a lively Friday night contest. The crowd praised the effort of Chariton players who had only practiced a few evenings. A return game is slated for Friday December 27 at Chariton.
The Corydon Poultry Breeders' Association held its first annual show in Corydon last week. Hundreds of birds were exhibited and judged by Walter Perkins of Ames. Geo. McCart announces a closing out sale on December 20 at his Humeston Lewisburg area farm featuring eighteen cattle ten hogs hay corn and farm implements on a 120 acre tract. Auctioneer J R Hasbrouck and clerk W T Moore.
Ira Nunn a three hundred pound strength marvel visiting Lineville with Case plow exhibitions since youth. He pulls a sulky plow with ease and once outmatched a two hundred pound mule in a tail to tail test, drawing the animal despite its efforts. John C. Bay moves butcher stock from Humeston to Corydon and plans a new meat market, after a knife wound delays his opening.
The district court in Corydon has drawn grand and petit jurors for the January term. Jurors are to convene Monday, January 6, with petit jurors subpoenaed to report January 7. The list includes the names of those selected to serve during the term.
