Northwest Side civic group forms to tackle juvenile delinquency
About 100 residents and businessmen gathered at Blackhawk Park to launch a Northwest Side independent civic group. Alderman John Aiello pledged support and promised to arrange committee access to address juvenile delinquency and Crosstown expressway impacts while the group plans future parleys and outreach to the City Plan Commission.

Tell Attempt To Bilk Depositors
West-Northwest Side residents were warned of a scam by men posing as police detectives or bank examiners who urge victims to hand over savings for a so called investigation. Pioneer Trust and Savings Bank reported two separate attempts in one day, with one victim redepositing $1800 after a phone check. The bank stressed there is no danger to deposits and urged caution.
