Iowa will see strong railroad construction from now until spring as several lines announce 100 to 150 mile extensions. The Northwestern will grade and complete road work, the Illinois Central plans 150 miles Fort Dodge to Council Bluffs, the Milwaukee from Spencer to Pocahontas, and Rock Island extends lines in northern Iowa to compete for southern Minnesota traffic.
