Park commission seeks city and township help to curb vandalism
Park Board plans to enlist city and township police aid to curb vandalism in the park. Closing time will be posted at 11 p.m. and authorities will be asked to help remove loitering. Trustees set summer hours for Hubbard Township meetings
Hubbard Township trustees, by unanimous vote, will meet once a month in June and July and not in August except for special sessions. Chairman Jack Choppa said public hearings are planned, including a zone change request for Frank and Mrs Sansota at St. Rt. 7, from commercial to industrial, with the hearing set for May 23 at 11 a.m. in the township building.

Hubbard Park Board appoints playground supervisors
The Hubbard Park and Recreation Board on May 12 named Paula Begeot as parks opening day supervisor and listed daily supervision through August 15. Additional supervised activities will be run by Joan Lynn Kober, Chris Gergel, Beth Michael, and Lisa Manilla, with Lisa Silver and Tony Gontaruk hired as alternates for the 1983 season. opening day is Monday June 20.

Sewers in Ward Two and Three to Get Facelift
The city council awarded Patierno Excavating a 33,521 block grant contract to repair and replace sanitary sewers in Ward Two with 6,479 reserved for future projects. Work starts next week on streets including W. Liberty and Grand View while a third ward storm sewer will be addressed with 2,000 from sewer funds. Completion is targeted for September amid neighborhood concerns near West Park Manor.

Senior citizens honored by Hubbard mayor on Senior Citizens Day
More than 150 seniors attended a noon luncheon May 17 at the Hubbard senior center. Mayor William Colletta declared Senior Citizens Day and awarded John Baker a Certificate of Commendation for leading the Hubard Senior Citizens. Colletta praised seniors as the community backbone while Gerald Townston provided entertainment.
