Jaycees to Stage Second Teen Driving Road-eo

The Jaycees host the second annual Teenage Auto Road-eo for Hubb ard and Brookfield teens with written tests on May 22 and driving tests May 24 at local high schools. Winners gain trophies and U S Bonds and may advance to state and national championships with substantial scholarships and prizes.

Brookfield Native Joins Grove City College as Assistant Professor

Joseph Goncz Jr. of Brookfield has accepted an appointment as assistant professor of mechanical engineering at Grove City College Pennsylvania, effective September. A Brookfield High School graduate, he earned a BEng from Youngstown State University in 1961 and an MS in engineering from the University of Akron in 1964, with doctoral studies at the University of Pittsburgh underway. He previously taught at Youngstown State University and worked with Westinghouse, serving as adviser to IEEE student chapter and participating in multiple university committees. He is married to Dorothy Chalupka and has four sons, active in the local church and Brookfield Board of Education since 1965.

Key Club Tops State In Silver Division

Hubbard Hubbard High Key Club traveled to Cleveland May 3 weekend for the annual convention at the Rick Carter Hotel and returned as the top silver division club in the state. Bill Driscoll was elected editor of Buckeye Key with the club assisting in the project. Tom Hagen accepted the trophy. the group aims to become three-time state champions.

Hubbard parish organist named to Youngstown liturgical panel

William Matthews of Hubbard the St Nicholas Church organist is named to the Youngstown Diocesan Liturgical Commission to advise on Vatican II liturgy implementation. Bishop James W Malone announced the appointment on May 9. Other two year appointees include Rev Joseph Witmer and Sister Jeannette Dohnal. Brownlee Oil Co. owner dies

Lloyd Brownlee 68 owner of Brownlee Oil Co. died May 7 after three years ill at Little Forest Medical Center. He was born October 21 1907 in Coitsville and moved to Hubbard 40 years ago. Brookfield Welfare Society Holds May Meeting
