Hubbard schools history tracks growth from Reed to high school

The Hubbard system expanded with Reed Elementary in 1960 61 housing 860 students and 24 teachers funded by an $850000 bond. The building included 27 classrooms a lunch room a gym and auditorium overseen by first principal Miss Mary E Snyder. Ridge Elementary followed on Chestnut Ridge Road with six classrooms and combined gym auditorium. Roosevelt Elementary received kindergartners through sixth graders after reorganization in 1960. High school opened in 1953 on Hall Avenue and was memorialized after principal Thomas Hall died in a auto crash. Measles Immunization Clinic Set for Hubbard High

Hubbard The Trumbull County Health Department schedules a clinic at Hubbard High School on May 19 at 9 a.m. to immunize ninth to twelfth grade students against nine day measles per Ohio directive. One dose live measles vaccine required. exemptions only for verified prior disease. Call Mrs. Jeannette Williams with questions.

School board approves 7000 roof survey contract

Hubbard district moves to fix poor school roofs by approving a 7000 dollar contract with Roofing Consultants Inc for survey analysis and recommendations. The measure followed an executive-session discussion and drew questions from former member James LaCivita.

Hubbard High School honor roll list by class and merit roll

Hubbard High School posts honor roll for the third nine weeks with grades for nine through twelve. The nine weeks lists include GRADE NINE and GRACE TEN students such as Lori Ambert and Steve Albani, plus GRADE ELEVEN and GRADE TWELVE names like Boyd Allen, Kathy Anderson, Beth Baldine, Val Barhoover, and many others. The Merit Roll section lists additional students including James Aaron, Annette Alexander, Beth Ann Allen, Jane Ashman, Kathleen Beach, Michele Beck, among others.

Sontag resigns as Hubbard principal

Hubbard Board accepts the resignation of Richard Sontag 60 after 34 years in the Hubbard school system. He will retire, enjoy more vacation time, and previously served as associate principal, ninth grade counselor, and senior government teacher. He and wife Katherine have no plans yet.
