Exchange student urges peers to seize the opportunity

Consultants outline steps for new Hubbard Girard water district

Dan E. Owens of Floyd Browne Associates and Virginia Benjamin of Caffee Halter Griswold met June 14 in Hubbard City Council Chambers with four communities to map next steps for a proposed water district serving Hubbard and Girard and the Hubbard and Liberty townships. They discussed defining service area limits, assessing water quality data, and selecting a general treatment plant site while noting exact locations would not be named. The district must be formed by petition to the Trumbull County Court of Common Pleas with details on necessity, purpose, territory, trustees, and terms, plus plans showing public health and welfare benefits, economy, feasibility, fairness, and reasonableness. Second Crime Seminar for Ward Two and Three

Hubbard police announce the second crime seminar for residents of wards two and three. It will be held Wednesday June 27 at 7 p.m. in the upstairs intervention room of the police station. The session aims to teach safeguarding homes against burglary and will feature special booklets on burglaries and crime prevention tips. Attendance is free and open to all in those wards with police personnel and city officials ready to answer questions.

Hubbard cookbook plans outlined by local historical society

Hubbard area cooks are invited to submit recipes for a 725 item community cookbook. The Hubbard Historical Society cookbook committee met at the tea room to organize entries from families, including ethnic and special occasion dishes.
