New Pond Built for Skating in Hubbard
Hubbard creates an ice skating rink at Drummond Ave and N Main St after two days of earth moving. The 12 000 square foot rink uses diverted Mud Run water and will be graded next summer. All work and fuel were donated by local businesses and a two month lease from Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co funds the project under the recreation program.

New Hubbard Public Library Blocked by Heirs Appeal
Legal action by heirs of John E. Phillips continues to block a 99 year lease between Hubbard board of education and lay board for a new library site on W Liberty Street. Judge James France upheld the lease but heirs appeal, delaying construction and risking higher costs. The library fund totals about 80 000 with 60 000 from a 1966 Trumbull County grant and 20 000 from previous solicitations.

City Council Debates Funds Transfer Amid Fiscal Strain

Grove City Bus Lines will take over the Youngstown to Sharon route from Greyhound after Monday February 5. Brenton Holter and Dallas Shull formed the partnership in 1946 and plan to improve schedules with public support.
