Rest stop expansion decision delayed by Ohio DOT
About 60 residents attended a public hearing in Hubbard Township on the I 80 rest stop expansion proposing more parking to serve 50 trucks. Opponents near Fox North Road push to close the site citing noise and fumes. DOT deputy director Dave Dreger said no decision yet, weighing comments from residents and a letter campaign. Trustees back residents, led by Fred Hanley, as lawmakers have been contacted.

Supreme Court to hear no appeal on mayor pay raise
The Ohio Supreme Court refused to hear an appeal over a 1989 city council pay raise for Mayor Albert J. Sauline Jr. The 11th District Court of Appeals had overturned Judge Mitchell Shakers ruling that the raise was legal. The case, filed May 1990 by attorney Michael Bernard and others, led to an ordinance requiring pay raises be set at least one month before primary filing deadlines.
