Hubbard city council faces heat over zone changes

Ed Castner owner of C&C Towing near Youngstown joined a GM advertising push for the towing industry after purchasing a new GM 6.5 HD Turbo Diesel. Two new vehicles and Castner appeared in photo shoots at Mill Creek Park and Youngstown State University, with ads running through the year in Tow Times American Towman and Towing and Recovery Photnotes. He spoke at a tow show in Orlando and noted many recognize him from the ads. GM paid him a modest fee for his work.

School district gains funds while city and township lose
Hubbard reports that increased millage will net the school district about $83,000 more next fiscal year, partly reducing a near $1 million debt. The city will lose about $35,000 and the township 20 percent of its general fund. The district plans $600,000 in cuts, including all extracurriculars and bus service, unless a June levy passes.
