Auto thefts in Ohio dip nearly ten percent in 1982
Ohio Insurance Institute reports statewide auto theft losses fell about 10 percent in 1982 with 41,347 vehicles stolen, 4,430 fewer than 1981. Despite the drop, total losses approached $110 million and insured costs rose due to higher parts and labor prices. Toledo led regional gains while Warren posted the largest drop, aided by the Ohio Highway Patrol and other groups.
