Howland education leader warns of 500000 deficit without new levy

Howland In his farewell to the Board of Education John Emanuel warned the township system faces a 500000 deficit in 1984 unless a 3 to 4 mill school levy is passed and a bond issue floated to finance repairs to the aging high school He urged passing extra millage and a bond to fund needed upgrades while noting enrollment declines and federal cuts threaten future projects Emanuel who resigns after joining the Howland Township Trustees said the district has moved forward with new programs but the high school is aging and in need of repairs

Arby’s staff train in CPR and choking rescue

Howland Board stalls plan for school swimming teams

Hillside Hospital announces layoffs
