Broad Look At Officials Corruption Probes Across State Lines

An Associated Press survey shows federal and county grand juries from Pennsylvania to Arizona probe officials in varying government levels. Arizona's case centers on Sen. Paul Fannin whose DWI charge was dropped then refiled and later pleaded guilty, with a county grand jury examining the dismissal. Other probes target Mayor John R. Coder of Williamsport for tapping a police captain, a Detroit state senator, a probate judge, and a liquor-advertised conspiracy involving a Borman’s license deal, plus Oklahoma City state treasurer Leo Winters in alleged extortion and bank fraud.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK AP The American Party will begin circulating petitions in all 75 Arkansas counties to qualify for the 1974 state election ballot. Chairman Hubert Blanton said canvassers aim for 75,000 signatures in 90 days, asserting the party is growing and may surpass seven percent of the vote. Petitions have AG approval and instruction sheets will guide legal compliance. For centuries the lama was considered the most valuable animal of Bolivia.
