The southern tip of Arkansas is forecast to receive scattered showers mainly in the afternoon and evening, while the rest of the state remains dry. Partly cloudy skies and warm temperatures are predicted for today and tonight.
The AP reports about 1000 Hendrix tapes found and five Warner Brothers albums planned. The first release in October features guitarist John McLaughlin, with jazz and blues explorations. Alan Douglas will assemble the material and Warner will reissue the best from the initial posthumous albums on one compiling release.
State officials label the Northeast Louisiana fish kill the worst on record and blame agricultural chemicals. Robert LaFleur of the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Department says aerial pesticide application is the suspected cause after farmers were warned not to use them.
