Fair skies and unseasonably warm daytime temperatures are expected across Arkansas through the weekend, with no rain indicated through Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
Hope Arkansas forecast shows sunny and warmer conditions through Friday with highs in the mid to upper 70s and low 80s. Overnight lows will be mid 40s to mid 50s with statewide clear skies and no rainfall reported in the last 24 hours.

Funeral services were held for Isaac J. Sprague at 2 p.m. in Herndon Funeral Home chapel with two ministers officiating. Burial followed at Rose Hill cemetery in Hope. Sprague, 79, of Texarkana, died in a local hospital. Charlie Hicks, 79, of Rosston route, died Tuesday in a Little Rock hospital. He was a Nevada County resident and a Oak Grove Baptist deacon. Survivors include wife Corene, son Roscoe Hicks, sister Orene Gillaham, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Hicks’s funeral is set for 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Oak Grove church in Rosston, with grave rites by Golden Crown Masonic Lodge No. 41. Also listed is Mrs. Odell Hawkins McLaughlin, 62, who died Tuesday night in a Nashville Arkansas hospital. She was from Sulphur Springs Texas and a Church of Christ member. burial at Ozan cemetery near Nashville after a 2:30 p.m. Thursday service. Edith Fisher, 78, died late Wednesday night in a local nursing home after a lengthy illness. A Roman Catholic, she leaves one sister Bernadette Fulton of Mishawaka Indiana. Rosary at Oakcrest Funeral Home tonight. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church Friday at 9:30 a.m. Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery by Oakcrest.
The Hempstead County ASCS continues checking farmers fuel and fertilizer availability to prevent crop spoilage as harvest progresses. Executive Director Gerald W. Lynn urges reporting shortages in fuels for harvesting and drying and fertilizers for application, with local resolutions possible and formal reports to Washington if needed.

A series of Wednesday minor traffic accidents in Hope left four people slightly or minorly injured. Sherry Shaw 16 and Heath Moore 4 were hurt in a head on crash at 500 West 16th Street. Shirley Price and Nancy Metcalf suffered minor injuries in a three car crash at Highway 67 and South Bonner Street. A school bus incident caused only minor damages, and a Kirby Arkansas driver was cited for failure to yield. No injuries in other incidents.

Hospital administrators from Prescott Gordon Nashville Texarkana and Ashdown announced a remote cardiac unit will monitor beds in four Southwest Arkansas hospitals. It will operate at St Michael's Hospital in Texarkana by January 1 1974 with equipment located there. Sister Rosalie will supervise. Installation should start October 29 and finish by year end funded by the Arkansas Regional Medical Program.
