The Hope Church of Christ announces gospel meetings with Prescott evangelist Gene Cleer. From Sunday November 30 to Wednesday December 3, Cleer will present talks on the last words of Jesus on the Cross, with daily topics Word of Concern Compassion Conquest Championship and Completion. A special adult class on Our Need Evangelism is set for 10 a.m. Sunday.

An elderly man, identified as Anderson Johns aged 79 or 80, died in a house fire in Garland Ark early Monday. The blaze gutted the five bedroom home owned by Mrs. Louise Wright. Johns was the only tenant. Wright and two grandchildren escaped unhurt. Johns was buried at Union Cemetery in Garland City.
In the Mediterranean near Sicily a Soviet Kotlin destroyer reportedly photographed the collision between the aircraft carrier John F. Kennedy and the destroyer Belknap. Five sailors were killed, two missing, 21 injured, with 26 more injured but returned to duty. The Kennedy remained at sea while Belknap was towed to Augusta, Sicily.

A host of medical students from multiple schools protest rising costs and sue George Washington University Medical School in Washington DC. The suit alleges the catalog promised $200 annual increases through 1979, but tuition jumped to $5,000 for 1975-76. The American Medical Students Association backs the suit, while SUNY Buffalo and Boston University students pursue lobbying and letter campaigns.
