Two Claim Presidency of Panama

In Panama City on November 23 two men claimed the presidency after rioting left a youth dead and several wounded. Dr Daniel Chanis Jr resigned amid a National Police coup, as Roberto Chiari was sworn in as president while police dispersed thousands at the palace with gunfire tear gas and nets.
