Speedy Trial for Slayer to Be Asked

Jerseyville WA November 22 State's Attorney Alvin H. Petitt said he would demand a speedy trial for Leonard Hawkins charged with slaying Albert E Claris of Goise City Oklahoma on October. A grand jury indictment has been returned against Hawkins. Petitt expects the Circuit Court to try the case early in January. Hawkins alias Lucky Bunson was captured near Dalhart Texas in an intensive hunt that followed lines of Clark's bay in a country came south of never. Clark has been shot to death. Officials said Hawkins has given three versions of the affair.
