The Associated Press reports Arkansas will be partly cloudy and windy with cold conditions. A freeze warning is in effect tonight as temperatures dip below 32 degrees, with slightly warmer temperatures expected Friday before cooling again.
The Hope Star reports a cold front moving through Arkansas with a high pressure system bringing windy conditions and a rapid warmup to end by Friday. Rainfall totals include .05 inches at Carden and a trace at El Dorado. overnight lows range from 29 to 70 across listed towns.
Actress Sue Lyon filed for divorce from Cotton Adamison, the inmate she married at Colorado State Penitentiary a year ago. The 28 year old, known for Lolita at age 14, says the marriage is irretrievably broken. Lyon had visited Adamison regularly and moved to Estes Park, Colorado, about a month ago. Adamison, 34, was a prisoner when they met.

U S auto sales fell 38.4 percent from 136,921 to 250,178 year over year, marking the second lowest level since 1959. GM shuts three plants for a week, laying off 7,200, with broader industry fears and large ongoing layoffs at Ford and Chrysler as the energy crisis and weak demand bite.
A major early season snowstorm blanketed the Midwest and moved toward the Northeast with 3 to 5 inches in central Iowa to northeastern Indiana and southeastern Michigan. Travel advisories issued from Indiana to Pennsylvania as far west as Oklahoma reach lows in the teens and 20s with wind whipped drifts and cold behind the system.

Los Angeles AP. Actor David Carradine, star of Kung Fu, was fined 250 and placed on one year probation after pleading no contest to misdemeanor charges of mischief and trespass. He allegedly broke into neighbor Michael Loehner's Laurel Canyon home last Sept 15, smashing windows and rifling a medicine cabinet. Carradine cut his right arm while smashing the windows, according to police and witnesses.
Two men, Jackie Jackson and Allen Gordon of Malvern, were killed when a ditch for an underground sewer line at the Aluminum Company of America plant near Benton caved in. Commercial Contractors Inc. of San Antonio employed them. rescue crews recovered the bodies around 1:30 p.m. An eyewitness said the ditch was about 13 feet deep at the shallowest point and a third man escaped, though Alcoa officials could not confirm.
The Unity Baptist Church will host a revival from November 17 to 20 featuring evangelist Joe David Key, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church in Junction City Arkansas. Special music will be by Jimmy Wallace. Services begin Sunday at 9:45 for Sunday School and 10:45 for morning worship, with evening services at 6 p.m. and weeknight services at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is invited.

Mrs Shirley Easterling Sachs, a Hope High School graduate, foreman of a grand jury investigating Jack Grasinger case. she lived in New Mexico 21 years.
