Funeral services were held for Joseph C. Sutton 60 in Fort Worth with graveside set in Hillcrest Cemetery. Walter E. Locke 83 died November 5 and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery with survivors including his wife and children. G Claud Webb 81 died at home in Billstown Ark with services at Billstown Church of Christ and burial in Delight Cemetery. survivors include his wife two sons a daughter and siblings.
LOCUST NJ AP Simas Kudirka a Lithuanian seaman freed from a treason sentence arrived in the United States hoping to see food shortages but said shopping showed no shortage or poor quality. He described Soviet propaganda depicting mass unemployment and starvation and noted his Soviet prison diet caused dental decay. Kudirka, his wife and two children with his mother came from Moscow and face job, housing, and schooling questions as he adjusts to life in the United States. He recalled two attempted escapes by boarding a U S Coast Guard cutter and being thwarted by Russian attempts to kill him with an electric cable but halted by a Coast Guardsman. Wilbur Wood has four straight 20 win seasons for the White Sox.
The Millwood Board of Realtors met at the Holiday Inn in Hope to discuss real estate trends and issues. Pat Honeycutt and Arthur Street led a round-table with Street as president and Honeycutt as vice president of the tri-county group including Hempstead Howard and Nevada counties. Adam Guthriel of Prescott, retiring president, urged a two month membership drive to boost the organization’s effectiveness for 1975.
