The National Weather Service says a high pressure system keeps clouds in Arkansas but shower activity should end tonight. Little or no rain is forecast tomorrow through Sunday with temperatures remaining mild.
Hope Star surveys the week with highs in the 60s to 70s and lows in the upper 40s to 50s as southerly winds limit temperature drops. Arkansas foresees considerable cloudiness and warmer conditions through Thursday with highs in the low 60s to low 70s and a 24 hour rainfall total of 20 inches at the Experiment station.

Lloyd Collier 73 died in a local hospital early Wednesday. Survived by one daughter Mrs. Herman Bell Jr of Hope, two brothers Royce and Ed Collier, one sister Mrs. Dale Rogers, two grandsons Travis Kidd and Stephen Bell, both of Hope. Funeral Thursday at 3 p.m. at Herndon Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gaylon Decious officiating. Burial Memory Gardens. Herndon Funeral Home in charge.
Terrell Williams member of Cassidy and Williams Grocery led a Lions Club program at the Town and Country restaurant. He demonstrated minting from ingots to finished coins and showed a Franklin Mint film. Also noted were club inductions and a separate crime report of three thieves raiding a high school safe and nicking ice cream from the cafeteria freezer.
Washington Kissinger says he cannot attend the 1973 Nobel Peace Prize ceremonies in Oslo on December 10 due to "press of business" and will have the prize accepted for him by U.S. Ambassador to Norway Thomas Byrne. Le Duc Tho declined the award earlier, citing unresolved peace in Southeast Asia.
The Labor Department reports a 0.3 percent drop in overall wholesale prices in October, led by a 3.3 percent fall in farm products and processed foods and feeds. Industrial commodities rose 1.1 percent due to fuels, while consumer finished foods rose 0.9 percent.
The President faces a growing fuel crisis and will press for voluntary cuts while aides push for stronger action. Proposals include shortening business hours, stand by fuel rationing, easing clean air rules, year round daylight saving, and state local conservation plans. Also under review are petroleum production at Elk Hills and mandatory production increases.
