Hope Star reports cooler conditions with maximum temperatures in the 40s to 50s and clearing skies by Saturday. Fayetteville's Wednesday high reached 63, other highs included 61 in Fort Smith Little Rock Jonesboro Harrison and 60 in Pine Bluff. Lows ranged from 49 to 57 across several cities with .02 inches rain in the 24 hour period. Arkansas forecast calls for cloudy cool weather with scattered showers through Friday and highs mid 40s to 60s.

Authorities say nine people were slain in a luxury ranch home near Victor in a mass execution with two children among the victims. The bodies were found in a bedroom and closet of a new $60,000 house amid vineyards in the San Joaquin Valley, eight miles east of San Francisco. Seven adults were bound and gagged, with powder burns indicating use of high powered weapons. Investigators are seeking two men on an Arizona murder warrant for questioning.
