Charles Hodges 31 of Paragould charged with kidnaping and assault with intent to rape for allegedly abducting Rita Scott a Rector High School pupil at Crowley's Ridge State Park. Scott escaped from a moving car. Hodges jailed at Walnut Ridge. Hope police reported two accidents and a major summer school program planned in district schools with Head Start at Brookwood Elementary and reading-focused classes at Beryl Henry Elementary and the High School July 15.
Eight year old Gary Lynn Davis of near Bethesda in Independence County drowned while playing in a pond near his home. He was the son of Mr and Mrs Harold Davis. The incident occurred Tuesday according to AP report.
