Man Held in Abduction of School Girl
A 31 year old Greene County man was held in Paragould on charges connected to the abduction of 17 year old Rita Scott at Crowley’s Ridge State Park. Scott escaped after being forced into a car and received scratches en route to hospital. Charles Winfred Hodges, an ex Marine, was arrested in the incident and jailed at Walnut Ridge after the wreck of the abductors’ car. Sheriff Parker reported the tense pursuit and Hodges’ surrender.
