Anne Hathaway's Cottage Restoration Highlights Tudor Home
The Hathaway family cottage near Stratford-upon-Avon, early home of Shakespeare's wife Anne Hathaway, dating to the fifteenth century, has been fully restored after a late year fire. Craftsmen rethatched the roof with wheat straw, replastered walls with lime and cow hair, repaired timber framing, and replaced aged timbers to match the original appearance.
