Brock Versus Veale Glasses Incident Delays Hitters
In Pittsburgh on Wednesday night Bob Veale struggled with new glasses as Lou Brock faced him for St. Louis. Brock resisted wearing glasses and finally used Veale's old pair to bat, with Veale yielding five hits and striking out Brock as Pittsburgh won 4 1. Veale, a rising star, has shown solid form this year, though not yet a 30 win ace. Accidents remain the top risk to U.S. children ages one to four, killing about 5,000 preschoolers annually.
