Switch Engine and Car Crash on Avenue B
A Missouri Pacific switch engine collided with a car on Avenue B this morning causing heavy damage. Herbert B. Bingaman of North Little Rock, driver of the car, was not badly hurt and taken to a local clinic for a checkup. Police said neither the engineer nor the driver saw each other in time to avoid the accident as the engine rounded a curve. Officers Clark and Craig investigated.

Hope Student Recital Slated Today at First Presbyterian Church
Bethy Kay Bell, a Henderson State Teachers College junior and Hope native, will perform an organ recital at 9 p.m. Friday May 7 in the First Presbyterian Church sanctuary. The event closes a week of National Music Week activities by the Friday Music Club as part of Hope's Festival of the Arts. Bell has appeared in Arkadelphia and Little Rock recitals and with the Collegiate Choir and Madeigal Singers, and she serves as organist at Malvern's First Presbyterian Church.
