Pilot misbriefing blamed for carrier restricted zone error
Lt. (j g) Larry J. Cooper, 25, of Valdosta, Ga., told the La Jolla chapter of the Military Order of World Wars that the crash occurred because pi lots were not properly briefed on board their carrier about the exact restricted zone. He said the other pilot, unidentified, was flying with a chart showing a restricted area 100 miles west of its true location.
