Planes Knock Out Red Radar Site and Barracks

US and Vietnamese planes destroyed a North Vietnamese radio station and radar site on Hon Nieu Island and at Chap Le army barracks. They sank vessels near Route 1, hit a Vinh supply depot, and damaged 19 buildings. On the ground Marines killed 89 Viet Cong and wounded 69 with artillery, while eight US Marines died in a helicopter collision.

Billy Ray Moore, 22, was seriously hurt with a sharp object Sunday night during a contest in a cafe near El Dorado. The Union County Sheriff's Office held a man for questioning in the slaying. Both victims and suspects are Black.
