A gunman killed three bank employees and wounded a fourth at Farmers State Bank in Big Springs Nebraska. Sheriff Floyd Stahr led a massive regional search as state troopers FBI and neighboring officers joined. Victims were bank president Andreas Kjeldgaard 77 cashier Glenn Henricksen 59 and bookkeeper Lois Ann Hothan 35. nephew Franklin Kjeldgaard 25 was wounded.

A 30 year old North Little Rock man, Robert G. Thrasher, waived a preliminary hearing and is bound over to Pulaski Circuit Court on murder charges. He is accused of shooting his wife Clara Mae Thrasher at about 25 near their garage apartment Sunday.
The General Services Administration plans to auction up to 148 missile silos with underground living quarters, costing about 1.5 billion dollars total. Locations span Spokane to Abilene and Plattsburgh to Marysville, with potential buyers eyed for packages including surrounding equipment. Miss Ora Moody a longtime Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. service representative in Hope retires after 43 years. Her career began in Nashville and included work in Camden Camden Hot Springs and Hope. A Presbyterian and P P W Club member she received a retirement party gift from colleagues.
Senate Republican Leader Everett Dirksen asked President Johnson to refrain from taking a stand on reapportionment. Johnson said he is generally sympathetic to one man one vote but will not discuss pending constitutional amendments until Congress acts. Dirksen called for putting the issue to the people.
Senators voiced mixed views on Sen. Fulbright's amendment to require OAS oversight for U S military aid to Latin America. The plan would allocate up to 55 million and allow 25 million for an inter American force under OAS control, with debate to resume Monday.
