The Associated Press reports warm humid conditions return to Arkansas with little change through Friday. Temperatures and humidity rose to July norms as a high pressure system that kept the state cooler and drier moves away.
Sunny skies and light southerly winds pushed afternoon temperatures into the 90s across most of the state. The National Weather Service expects more of the same today with scattered light showers possible, and only low rain chances for the next couple of days. A weak western frontal system may lift shower probabilities by the weekend.
Little Rock based Fair field Communities Inc agreed to a permanent injunction halting a contested sales practice tied to shelter units and rental back agreements. The SEC and Arkansas Securities Commission alleged investors were misled about profits and rapid appreciation. About 500 to 600 investors were involved at Fairfield Bay and Fairfield Glade.
Federal Basic Educational Opportunity Grants may provide Ranging from 200 to 1400 dollars yearly to help cover tuition, room and board, books, and more. Applicants must begin after April 1, 1973, attend at least half time, and apply using the determination form for 1975 76.

The sixty first Annual Session of the Southwest District Singing Convention met at Mt. Friendship Baptist Church Curtis Ark hosted by Rev. Lewis Jones. Highlights included inspirational solos, a children youth choir, a King and Queen contest, and total funds raised of 1738 with future plans to meet in Lonoke Hope Arkansas in July 1976.

Anthony George Townsend, 24, a college student, died by his own action after inhaling smoke from a fire he started in a restroom aboard an airborne jetliner.
