Tom Brightwell Dies in Texas after illness
Tom Brightwell aged 59, a Hempstead county native, died at his home in Gorman Texas after several days of illness. He was buried in Gorman cemetery. He was born near Shover Springs in 1874 and married Minnie Blair, with one son and six daughters among his survivors. Also surviving are his mother and five sisters.

J P Akridge 50 of Searcy and W R England Heber Springs school officials were killed when their Ford car was struck by a Missouri Pacific passenger train at a crossing near Little Rock.
