Lions Club hears slide show by Zinger on lilies and wildlife

Roy Zinger presented a slide show titled Consider the Lilies of the Field at the Hope Lions Club meeting. The program mixed Bible quotations with nature photography of wildflowers, plants, insects, and birds, ending with Grand Canyon and river scenes. New members Sam McHenry and Thompson Impson joined, with several guests accompanying club officers.

Arkla and PSC clash over rate cost justifications

Arkla officials told the Arkansas Louisiana Gas Co. rate hike seeks to cover rising costs for residential and small business customers, while PSC staff questioned calculations. Jerrell Clark urged removing late payment penalties or tying them to actual collection costs, noting penalties in 1972 exceeded delinquent-collection expenses. Weston said he sent a letter to Judge J Smith Henley of the U S District Court in Little Rock about Ft Roots Veterans Administration Hospital procedures.
