A crate containing a Convair F102 jet fighter interceptor and an air to air Falcon missile was misdelivered to Portland State College causing several minor traffic tie ups. The shipment from Norton Air Force Base in California was expected at the University of Portland but ended at PSU before being moved to the Portland Air Base for the night. Clay Farris, 59, died Tuesday after a log struck his head while he worked with a logging crew about five miles southeast of El Dorado. Coroner W. N. McKinney ruled the death accidental. He was a team driver for Bass Clark Lumber Co.
