A search continued along the Cossatot River near the Polk Howard county line for Earl Coburn a 32 year old Texarkana man believed to have fallen from a rubber raft during a Sunday float trip starting near Vandervoort Bridge. Deputy Sheriff Bobby Nivens said authorities fear he is lost.

In Malvern Arkansas an 79 year old man, Harry Lang, held Chancellor Mel Cardin at gunpoint for over 90 minutes in the court records vault while angry over a 1975 land dispute ruling. Circuit Clerk Ralph Parish wrestled the gun. no one injured. Lang was taken to State Hospital at Benton.
