The Associated Press reports little change in Arkansas weather for the next few days with no major fronts forecast. Highs linger in the 40s and nightly lows reach 20s to 30s, reducing chances of a white Christmas as an upper level trough remains over the state.

Funeral services for Frances Jane Hays Parker 64 were held at Ruebel Funeral Home Little Rock with burial at Forest Hills Memorial Park. Survivors include her husband Ray P Parker one daughter Jane Parker and two brothers. Also, Mrs Lillian Ann Buchanan 60 of Prescott died Sunday night in a Nevada County hospital. Services were at First Baptist Church with burial at Harmony Cemetery near Emmet. Survivors include husband Dalton Buchanan two sons Carlton and Edward and daughter Mrs Anthony Bourdess plus three sisters and a brother and six grandchildren.
The FTC accuses the American Medical Association and state and local groups of blocking advertising and price competition by doctors. The complaint targets the AMA code and similar state rules, asserting they hinder competition and deprive consumers of pricing information. A hearing is set for Feb 9 before an administrative law judge.
Two followers of Charles Manson face new federal charges in Sacramento as Sandra Good and Susan Heather Murphy are indicted for conspiring to mail 171 threatening letters to business and government leaders. Ly nette Fromme is named as an unindicted co conspirator.

Arkansas Power & Light Co faces no refunds for about 65 000 residential customers after the Public Service Commission ordered refunds only for charges on or after November 17. The PSC clarified higher winter rates applied to electricity consumed after November 17, meaning some customers will see higher bills and may owe for October and November usage. The commission said excess charges must be refunded within 30 days, but most large consumers were excluded.
United Airlines, amid a 16 day strike, plans to fly at 8 to 100 percent capacity but currently operates at 36 percent with flights from most cities restored. The airline expects 117000 bookings for today, warns many prestrike reservations may have shifted, and will request a 1 percent domestic fare increase to take effect February 1.
Time magazine reports sexual relations between John F Kennedy and at least two White House staffers. Names remain undisclosed. Accounts describe staffers traveling with Kennedy and one aide from the National Security Council being involved. The piece ties to Judith Campbell Exner disclosures and CIA plots against Castro.
Hare Krishna followers in San Antonio disguise as Santa Clauses to raise funds. Six members hand out candy canes and Krishna books at a busy intersection, asking drivers for $1 donations. Some motorists ignore them, and police have received complaints.
