E A Taylor dies at 84, funeral at First Baptist church. Civil War veteran Elijah Alfred Taylor, pioneer settler, owed Hope land later developing into the city. Survivors include widow E A Taylor, five sons, three sisters, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Burial at Rose Hill cemetery.
Premier Herriot charged that Hoover’s 1931 debts moratorium sparked the current financial bind on French debts and reparations. He told the Chamber of Deputies that the United States should not have intervened and that Germany should have sought the moratorium under the Young plan.
