Rain expected across Arkansas into Friday

Funeral services for H. C. Edington in Nashville

Funeral services for H. C. Edington aged 69 were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Latimer Funeral Home chapel in Nashville with Rev. Lawrence Amos officiating. Burial was in Walden Cemetery near Nashville. Edington, a Nashville resident, died Tuesday in a Texarkana hospital. He was a carpenter and a Mason. Survivors include his widow Ota two sons Leon of Huntsville Tex and Thomas of Nashville three daughters Thelma Clark of Patmos Dorothy Wynn of Memphis Tenn and Leota Davis of Nashville two sisters Jessie Ohmer and Edna Sheard, Beavon

Centennial plans discussed at Kiwanis meeting in Hope

The Kiwanis Club heard plans for Hope's centennial including Centennial Belles and Beaus uniforms, a teen group forming with 25 youths per gender, and multiple religious services leading to a large August parade. The event features Art shows, antique autos, a Music Man performances, and a September centennial preview.

Ex-resident and wife die in auto crash near Vickerville

Elder and Mrs Slim Crain of Vickerville California were killed Monday night in a car accident near Vickerville. Mr Crain, a former Hope resident, was 53 and his wife Jackie 49. They leave eight children, four sisters including Mrs Florence Williams of Hope, and one brother. Funeral services set for Thursday at Resada California.
