Schedule Calls for Longer School Day

Schools begin at 8 10 and end at 3 40 with 3 35 for elementary. A 30 minute lunch runs from 11 30 to 12 15 for elementary and from 12 0 to 12 30 for some junior high groups. Junior and senior high will have seven periods of 55 minutes each to allow more student choices.

Reynolds Metals Co Hurricane Creek refining plant at Bauxite faces a Saturday strike by Local 333 United Steelworkers if no settlement is reached. A three day strike notice became effective this morning at 8 00 a m. About 850 union members work at the plant. State Buys Land for Interstate 30 Right of Way
