Obituary Virgil E Norris of Houston dies at 77

Virgil E Norris formerly of Houston died Thursday morning in a local hospital at age 77. Survivors include his wife Sue Watson Norris. Funeral arrangements are pending. Belgrade Belgrade Yugoslavia AP two married teachers found a way to improve their financial situation. One alternates monthly becoming sick for about 10 days and the other covers the work and extra pay, the Evening News reported.

Hope Arkansas City Board votes to amend traffic rules raising penalties for violations and reducing railroad crossing speeds until repairs. It also approves a rate increase for Hope Community TV, plans to inform the state highway department about funding, rejects airport runway clearing bids, reviews fence bids for the incinerator site, weighs buying the AH D building for 65 000 dollars, and authorizes Centennial Committee use of a railroad building with a 90 day tear down period after the festivities. Left a mess in Vincennes as thieves raid Lincoln High School offices then raid a home economics room for breakfast.

Trade bill talks gain momentum amid Jewish emigration hurdle

Washington AP Three senators opposing the trade bill until freer Soviet Jewish emigration is secured said after meeting with President Ford there are indications of progress and a possible agreement. Blevins School Opens Aug 26 Under Lamar Reece

Blevins will start classes on August 26 with a teacher workshop on August 21 and registration August 22 and 23. Grades 4 5 6 10 11 12 attend from 9 to 10 a.m. August 23, grades 1 9 3 7 8 9 on August 23 9 to 10 a.m. Kindergarten also 9 to 10 a.m. Classes begin 8:25 a.m. August 26. Buses run August 22 and 23 for registration. Lunches served August 26. Lamar Reece is superintendent.
