Miller sent rifle sights to aid agency head in Texas
HOUSTON AP George T Miller head of Harris County Community Action Association said he ordered seven telescopic rifle sights for the anti poverty agency to try to convert into classroom microscopes. Police Chief Herman Short dismissed the idea as disgust and outrage. Miller, 64, said surplus government goods were free for anti poverty groups and he hoped lenses would work as microscopes though optics professor Jack Thompson called the plan impossible. Miller criticized Short’s remarks as unfortunate and perhaps malicious.
