The Associated Press reports statewide showers and thunderstorms likely in Arkansas on Wednesday. The National Weather Service expects mostly cloudy skies today, increasing cloudiness elsewhere, with scattered showers or thunderstorms this afternoon and cloudy skies through Wednesday.

Jones 83 with services at Fairview Methodist Church and burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery Prescott. Jones died Sunday at Nevada County Hospital. she was Baptist and survived by two sons two daughters two sisters ten grandchildren twenty two great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Arkansas unemployment climbs to 9.6 percent in March from 9.0 in February driven by more job seekers and returnees. Unemployed total hits 86,600, while employed rises to 737,000 as gains occur mainly in nonmanufacturing and, seasonally, agriculture.
U S officials warn an improved SA7 missile near Bien Hoa could threaten evacuees from Saigon. The weapon, with infrared guidance and longer range, challenges U S transport planes and helicopters as Pentagon presses for faster civilian pullouts while five carrier groups and 4 000 Marines wait in the South China Sea.
The Army Department announced 91 civilian employees will be laid off at Pine Bluff Arsenal by June 30 due to reduced production and storage workload. Officials expect the civilian strength to fall from about 1,100 to around 1,000, and say efforts will be made to find employment for those affected.
