Reports from Saigon describe a large assault by about 2,000 South Vietnamese forces supported by ground units helicopters and parachutists targeting a Viet Cong stronghold in the Mekong Delta near Can Tho. The Amastra tanker in Nha Trang harbor was struck by an external blast causing flooding and a 4 by 6 foot hole below the waterline though salvage is considered possible after most of the load was discharged.
