The Associated Press reports Arkansas will have mostly sunny and windy conditions today, with continued sunshine and warmer Friday. Tonight will be fair and cold with freezing temperatures statewide, highs in the 40s to 50s and lows in the 20s to 30s, and no precipitation is expected per the National Weather Service.
The Hope Star reports a segment of daily weather from April 3 1975 including a cold night with freezing temperatures expected across Arkansas by Friday morning. HEW releases interim findings from 295 unannounced inspections across 295 skilled facilities in 50 states excluding Alaska Hawaii and Nevada. Major issues include fire safety violations dental care gaps bed sores and delayed doctor visits within 40 days of admission.
The Boeing 727 carrying orphans was damaged during a rescue after South Vietnamese troops fired when they failed to board. North Vietnamese fire also struck the plane as it departed. Mary Fisher of Loma Linda, traveling with six orphans, praised the journey as the most comfortable ever. The orphans were later moved by bus to the Presidio in San Francisco.
