Babies in Oakland rescue mission ends with wounded aircraft

The Boeing 727 carrying orphans was damaged during a rescue after South Vietnamese troops fired when they failed to board. North Vietnamese fire also struck the plane as it departed. Mary Fisher of Loma Linda, traveling with six orphans, praised the journey as the most comfortable ever. The orphans were later moved by bus to the Presidio in San Francisco.
