HOT SPRINGS Ark AP two Arkansas doctors warned that acupuncture would be very limited as a substitute for conventional anesthesiology. Dr Wen Jung Chiu, an anesthesiologist from Houston told the Arkansas Medical Society convention the method avoids hydration disruption and allows eating during surgery but carries risks of psychiatric trauma accidental puncture and nerve damage. Dr Warren C Boop Jr of the University of Arkansas said it has uses but is constrained by social fabric and culture.
