The government said Jones evaded 5209 in taxes for 1965 and 1966. Jones indicated no comment beyond thanks and deferred further remarks to his attorney.
Arkansas House approves a bill to fund prescription drugs for welfare recipients with 4.5 million dollars over two years and 18.8 million in federal funds. The environmental preservation appropriation of 10 million to acquire historic, recreational, and ecological areas was defeated in both houses.
