Labor dispute halts Ottawa County road projects
Ottawa County road work is on hold due to a labor dispute between Michigan Infrastructure Transportation Association and Operating Engineers Local 324. Major projects affected include resurfacing on James Street in Holland Township and on Osborn, Bass and Warner streets in Allendale and Robinson townships, plus partial shutdown on Cottonwood Drive in Georgetown Township. The standstill reflects a statewide lockout as MITA and Local 324 failed to renew their five year contract expired June 1.
